Puppy Love :)

It has been a while since I have updated this blog :P sorry!

Life has been uber busy around here:
~ I finished school (YAY)
~ Matt and I went on an epic road trip! (YAY)
~ We gave our notice to our landlords in White Rock (YAY)
~ We found a new place in North Vancouver (YIPEE)
~ WE GOT A PUPPY!! (HURRAH)
~ I have begun writing the qualifying exam for the CPCA. If I pass this, I am on my way to becoming a registered counselor. (YAY)

Charli, our new puppy, is a purebred yellow labrador. She is a sweet puppy ... and she sure keeps us on our toes :) Matt and I are completely smitten with her!

Like I said, life is busy! But what JOY it is to live a life filled with opportunity, adventure and love :)

the long weekend...

This is what I love, love, love, about summer! one of my many favourite things to do, is hang out on the rustic beaches of the West Coast, and admire the beauty around me. This picture captured a perfect moment for me. Just chillin' with good people in a beautiful place, eating good food, drinking good drinks, listening to my husband strumming the guitar, and enjoying life :) not sure it gets better than this...

coffee anyone

One thing you need to know about my husband Matt and myself, is, we are COFFEE LOVERS (snobs)!! I'm not talking about just any coffee; I am talking about GOOD coffee. You will seldom find us in a lineup at TIm Hortons or Starbucks. We drink good quality, unburnt coffee, at home!

We began roasting our own coffee beans about 1 year ago and not only do we save money, but it's fun and delicious too! This is what I'm talkin' 'bout...

2 little birds

I was sitting on our couch the other day when these two little birds came for a visit. It was the neatest thing! waking up to the chirping of birds right outside your window is not a regular occurrence, when you live on the 7th floor of a high-rise in the middle of a city :) Immediately, I heard Bob Marley's voice in my head, singin' a slightly altered version of 'Three Little Birds'...

I rose up up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
TWO little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"

it was a great day!! *smile*

sun sunny Sunday :)

There is nothing better then spending the whole day with my main squeeze :) I just love that guy! We had a perfect day. The morning, we spent relaxing, eating good food, and drinking yummy coffee. Noon hit, and we were off to the beach to catch some rays...and we burnt! YAY!

Our evening was equally perfect! we played a game of checkers while listening to the new Eddie Vedder album (you should get it, it's great!)

why pura vida?

I chose 'pura vida' as my blog title because it defines how I want, and try to live my life :) I absolutely love the meaning behind it and here is why...

Pura Vida is a special outlook on life. It is a philosophy that states that happiness is found in the simple things, in the manner in which one perceives life, how one relates to the world and values the details on a day-to-day basis. The pura vida citizen will always first take care of having enough time to dedicate to the family and to the enjoyment of life. They will make sure to side step stress and evade suffering for things that are not worth suffering for. They will not worry about problems that have no solution. ~unknown~

Pura vida literally means, Pura = pure, and vida = life, but "Pure life" in Spanish would be "Vida pura" instead. So, the real meaning is closer to "plenty of life", "full of life", "this is living!", "going great", "real living", or "cool!" ~wikipedia~
